Chotto Desh by Akram Khan Company

7 November 2015

This production was part of our autumn season 2015

What if all you ever wanted from life was to be a dancer?

Come and join us on an exciting adventure! Chotto Desh, meaning “small homeland”, tells the story of one young man who travels to Bangladesh, wanders through the jungle and dances with animals in pursuit of his dream.

Using a mix of dance, text, interactive animation and sound, Chotto Desh promises to be a magical, enchanting theatre experience for families to enjoy together.

Akram Khan’s Desh was an instant hit with audiences and critics alike when it was first presented in 2011. Now, Akram Khan Company and director Sue Buckmaster of Theatre-Rites have adapted Khan’s much-loved production specifically for children aged 7+ and their families.
Akram Khan became a household name after choreographing a prominent section of Danny Boyle’s Isles of Wonder London 2012 Olympic Games Opening Ceremony.
