Mi Flamenco Residency Day 4

21 December 2017

DAY 4
Pushing at boundaries, delving into the mind of others, gently pulling someone into your space, or
simply sharing: this collaboration is fascinating. This morning, we started with a written piece from a
member of the community, inspired by our hand choreography from yesterday. This written piece
then re-inspired the company to explore the mind set of the Couple, which was layered roughly with
the music from yesterday. All these wonderful textures feeding into each other!
I can honestly say that some of the work has been so challenging, in a way that it has removed all
normal practice, landing us in the deep end and swimming frantically. But this is what the week has
been about. That opening up to new experiences can only feed into our creativity. It feels like a very
positive way of bringing everyone together with the same mindset of trying new things and being
supportive of each other.
Seeing the community members gaining more and more confidence and participating and
collaborating with increasing vigour has been so positive. We are partners in something curious and
rewarding.
