Pavilion Dance South West (PDSW) is a not-for-profit organisation and a registered charity (no. 1111641). As a dance organisation we are offering something quite unique and far-reaching, helping as many people as possible experience dance, regardless of their background, age or abilities. Dance can be a beautiful art form but it also has huge benefits for people's physical and mental health and well-being.
Here are some of our favourites: our weekly Parkinson’s Dance class that helps people diagnosed with this condition improve the quality of their lives, our work with schools and local authorities to ensure that dance can be enjoyed by as many children and young people as possible and our commitment to make the cultural landscape in the South West more exciting and diverse by supporting artists in developing cutting-edge new work.
We are very fortunate to receive funding from the Arts Council England and from Bournemouth Borough Council to run our core activities, and we have some income through room hires, parties, and ticket sales. However, as part of our commitment to make dance as accessible as possible, we subsidise every single ticket and, like most arts organisations, we rely on the generosity of individuals and organisations to be able to deliver our key areas of work. Your contribution would ensure that we can continue to change people's lives through dance.
