Overview

This series of paintings by Harriet Muller immerses the viewer in an underwater world exploring the colour and beauty of the sea and the creatures which inhabit it. Recycled plastics are used to illustrate the detrimental effect we have on this aquatic landscape.

Making drawings and paintings while Mischief Company developed RED (see p. 8), with its strongly implied narrative, led to a series of more illustrative work. The artwork shown here includes motifs from the moment and also developed still images that communicate character and scene-setting in a more direct way. Denise's second residency, working with the poetic and poetically-inspired production At The End We Begin by Richard Chappell Dance Company, resulted in a series of monoprints. These images were dynamically composed on the printing press bed and made in the moment, in the spirit of the original drawingMaking drawings and paintings while Mischief Company developed RED (see p. 8), with its strongly implied narrative, led to a series of more illustrative work.
