A Poetic Response to Gandini Juggling

We are excited to have a regular reviewer for the Spring season of ‘Thursday Night is Dance Night’. Dave Young is a creative artist, poet, composer and performer, he is pleased to be invited back to PDSW to do poetic reviews for this seasons Dance performances, following a good reception to his poetic responses at the Integrated Dance Summit in May. Here he reviews Gandini Juggling’s 4X4 Ephemeral Architectures.

Dave Young Poetic response to Gandini Juggling 4×4 Ephemeral Architectures.

Green yellow green yellow green yellow. Green white yellow. Balls and hoops flying over. Ballet dancing

between the 2. Lovely but confused ways. Light but set on time and accuracy. Conformed but free in their

ways. Funny but look for it.

Can you dance when the balls are in the air? Can. You dance. When the balls. Are in the air?  Can you

dance    when   the balls    are in the. Air?   Can you dance when the balls are in the air?

Yes I can because I am cooler than you.

Yellow green white yellow green white yellow green yellow green yellow green white yellow green yellow

green yellow green.

Red red  red  red  red  red red.     Dead.

The ways to finish this poem.

Option 1:-   big ball of smoke….. bang.

Option 2:-   a man talking about the ways to finish the show.

Option 3:-   a poet talking about ways to finish the show, to finish the poem.
