Anticipating 2015 and beyond

Welcome to 2015

With the ongoing challenges for the arts around diversifying income streams, protecting arts in education and advocating for sustaining arts development even in constrained times, we would like to begin this new year with a celebration of our work and of the the arts in general.

And there are quite a few reasons to celebrate:

  • The excellence of the UK’s arts industries and their continuous resilience in the face of financial adversity
  • The fact that the remarkable health and well-being benefits of the arts are now acknowledged more widely, with robust evidence to support this now available
  • The tremendous way organisations, particularly in the South West, are working in imaginative partnerships to ensure the arts continue to flourish
  • The sheer number of people who enjoy the arts, and especially dance of course, either by watching or participating, or both

We would also like to share a document that celebrates the work we have been doing in the South West since 2011 and reveals our plans moving forward into 2015-18.

We hope you enjoy the read – we’re certainly excited about what dance in the South West and beyond has to offer!
