In November 2020, Pavilion Dance commissioned Second Hand Dance to create ‘Night Tree’ films – a gentle, sensory journey through the beautiful wintery forest to find a very special tree…

The ‘Night Tree’ live show by Second Hand Dance premiered at Pavilion Dance in 2018, so we were thrilled to be able to support a digital version.

Audio description and captioned versions are available. You can view the audio described trailer here

‘Night Tree – a living room woodland adventure’ ran from Friday 19th Feb – Sunday 21st Feb 2021. Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole audiences could even order special brownies and hot chocolate from local independents Green Label Kitchen to their door to enjoy with their films!

Audiences watched, downloaded activity packs, and took part in live Zoom Dance workshops with characters from the films.

‘Granddaughter is 5 and spent the whole time moving, by dancing and pretending to be a deer, looking with pretend binoculars and leaf kicking with the props. It really held her attention (& she insisted on hot chocolate afterwards). Grandson is 3, he bounced around a lot, I found some fircones which he was very taken with and when it was the evening scenes he walked around with his eyes closed, ‘because it was dark’ – Thank you!’ Audience feedback

The films are available for bookings (including streaming, indoor and outdoor screenings and for schools). You can download the pack for more information and contact for bookings.
