Building on the success of last year’s dance in education conference, we are pleased to present INSPIRE 2014 in partnership with Mayflower Theatre, Southampton on Tuesday 7 October 2pm to 6pm.
It will bring together dance teachers and arts professionals with the aim of making you feel more invigorated, informed and motivated at the beginning of the new school year.
In the midst of relentless, ongoing change in education, it is a chance for you to meet with colleagues from other schools; venues and arts organisations with the aim of making you feel more invigorated, informed and motivated at the beginning of the new school year. INSPIRE 2014 will give you a chance to:
• Hear from KEY SPEAKERS Linda Jasper, Director of Youth Dance England and Claire Jenkin, BTEC Senior Standards Verifier for Dance from Pearson Education
• Discuss the provision of effective support for DANCE in SCHOOLS with colleagues & key arts professionals
• Hear about new dance opportunities that could IMPACT on TEACHING & LEARNING
• Find out about future DANCE PERFORMANCES in local venues
Delegates will also receive a complementary ticket to watch the evening performance at the Mayflower by Brazil’s internationally acclaimed dance company GRUPO CORPO at 7.30pm, followed by a Q&A session with the company at 9.30pm (see www.mayflower.org.uk for details).
Last year’s delegates enjoyed a stimulating afternoon:
“I’m excited about collaboration, feeling part of something bigger than just my classroom of 10 students, who are not always easy.” “The discussion groups allowed a place to share ideas and thoughts.” “I particularly enjoyed listening to other professionals and open dialogue with other teachers.”
