Dancing Daisy Dancewear based in Ferndown are generously supporting Pavilion Dance South West’s work with Children and Young people with a donation from the proceeds from their ‘shop launch’ raffle and factory seconds sale on Saturday 5th September.
Pavilion Dance South West actively fund and produce work with and for children and young people, including a comprehensive Associate Schools programme to support the provision of dance within the school setting. The donation will be used to support this work and help young people across the area access dance.
“The last five years has seen dance stripped out of schools. Except as a tiny element within PE and GCSE dance is now a rarity. With arts investment cuts and less public money we are heading towards a situation where only a few can take part.
“We are passionate about the real benefits of dance for young people; not only is it a positive physical activity but it encourages collaboration, trust and empathy as well as proving to support learning right across the curriculum. Without external support we would not be able to deliver this work so we are very pleased and grateful.” (Deryck Newland, Artistic Director of Pavilion Dance South West)
Dancing Daisy will be opening their new shop from 10am on Saturday morning and will be holding the raffle and the seconds sale throughout the day. Proceeds will be split and donated to Lewis Manning Hospice, Diverse Abilities Children’s Team and Pavilion Dance South West.
Dancing Daisy: “We are pleased to be supporting Pavilion Dance South West and to be supporting dance within schools.”
Don’t forget to head down to Pavilion Dance South West from 11am where we will be celebrating our 5th anniversary with taster classes throughout the day, a dance drawing workshop and a season launch celebration at 1pm.
