Mi Flamenco in residency at Pavilion Dance Dec 18 – 22 2017.
The dancers (Kelian Jimenez and Ester Tal) developed the hand and table work today – with an interesting sound track – layering and layering ideas, theatre and movement.
The week has been a fascinating learning experience for all involved. The flamenco dancers were exploring new ways to move and investigating a new motivation for their work. The musicians – classical cellist (Nick Squires) and flamenco guitarist (Uri Tal) were responding to movement and narrative in original ways. Our Director Lee Hart, was also discovering new ways to work his theatre magic onto and into bodies and minds that were from completely different artistic backgrounds, but very open to new experiences. And, the community members were pure magic in their collaboration: an openness of mind and spirit and an avid interest in the movement and music, made them an absolute joy to work with – Thank you! Collaborative team work like this can only provide benefits for all those involved: safe, inclusive, creative joy.
A very rewarding conclusion to the residency today, so thank you Pavilion Dance and Awards for All funding for making this such a worthwhile experience for all those involved!
