We’ve hosted lots of activity across our schools communities this Autumn 2023 half term!

School workshops

Talbot Primary have enjoyed lunchtime playground street dance sessions with street dance teacher Laura Cuschieri and Poole High School took part in Rambert style workshops with Lawrence James as part of their Learning Associate programme of activity.  Corali dance company led workshops based on their show Super Hot Hot Dog across multiple sites including Heathlands, St Katharines, Springwood and Linwood schools with some fantastic feedback from all schools.

“I loved making ice cream flavours with actions!”
“I like how much fun they made it and even how if you’re different you can still do it”
“It was wonderful to see the students exploring their creativity and imagination. The workshop was led with such enthusiasm and each of the students felt really valued. It was so nice that the students could have some creative input, adding different movements for the different ice cream flavours”.

Lots more activities are planned for the Autumn and Christmas terms with Halloween spooktacular dance workshops at Henry Brown Centre taking place during half term, plus visiting artists and Advent Adventure workshops planned across Bournemouth and Poole College and Victoria school in Nov & Dec.

Career Fairs

The team have also been out and about talking future pathways and careers to school and college students from QE school in Wimborne and surrounding primary schools, St Aldhems Academy in Poole and local schools and Bournemouth & Poole College creative industries career fair where Billy Bragg was inspiring the music students!  Students learned about careers in dance beyond performance including working as choreographers, producers, teachers, technicians, designers, marketing, therapists and artistic directors.
