Arts by the Sea festival 2023 saw Bournemouth buzzing with outdoor arts, entertainment, installations, performances, activities, projections and a wonderful community spirit.  None more so than the groups that learnt and took part in our collaborative flash mob dance led by Jazz Gritt and choreographed with Pavilion Dance Artistic Director Victor Fung.

A number of community groups took on the challenge including Bournemouth and Poole College students who performed fabulously at the Pier Approach, and at the bandstand, Vrushali Harihar and her Indian community group, a local Ukrainian community group, The Chatterboxes, Arts by the Sea staff and many other individuals joining us on the day.  All performing in sync to the tune BREAK DOWN WALLS by Town of Cats, who performed live on the bandstand after.

A joyful, collaborative and fun community atmosphere saw over 150 people take part and over 400 people watching.  The biggest THANKS to Arts by the Sea for their wonderful collaborative spirit, Jazz Gritt for teaching and leading with such patience and joy, to Victor Fung for co-creating the piece, the Diamond Faces face painters and to all our wonderful dancers and communities for coming along and taking part.

Looking forward to seeing all the group photos and videos soon!
