As part of a UK-wide children and dance programme we hosted a series of events in October for those working with or championing children with autism.

We delivered live and digital events, including workshops in local schools (thank you Linwood and Mudeford Infants!) with dance artist and creator of  The Crisp Sandwich Café, Matthew Rawcliffe & Hannah Miles.

Teachers & pupils were sent vibrant, clear & beautiful learning digital learning packs in advance that included accessible welcome videos, visual stories & music playlists. All these contributed to bringing the workshops to life in advance but most importantly, it meant the workshops could be accessed & enjoyed by all the children.  The workshops brought laughter, fun and a lot of crisp packet scrunching and rustling!

We also hosted digital events with Forest Tribe, creators of Evolve, an immersive multi-sensory show crafted for children and young people with autism and complex learning needs.  And we were joined by Amy McGowan, an inspiring Special Educational Needs Co-Ordinator and Designated Teacher at Sedgefield Community College in County Durham. Amy & the school were featured in the 2022 BBC documentary: Paddy & Christine McGuiness: Our Family and Autism.

Thanks to everyone that took part in the workshops at Linwood School and Mudeford Infants School – and for all the valuable insights and learning shared by our amazing artists and special guests.
