Lewys Holt is inviting willing participants into the studio with him on Wednesday 16th August between 9.30am and 5.30pm to fuel discussions and feed into his research and development process.

Lewys graduated from the De Montfort University in 2013 with a first class degree in Dance. He then went on to graduate with an MA in Performance Practice (also from De Montfort University) the following year. His work, while focusing on dance, spans comedy, visual arts and devised theatre. His dance practice is concerned with release and improvisation, taking influences from Skinner releasing technique, Open Source Forms and Contact improvisation. He has worked with prominent international artists including Tino Sehgal, Sally Marie, Frank Willens, Rosemary Lee and Florence Peake.

Dancer and choreographer, Rachel Burn, is in residency the same week and is holding an open class from 10am-11.30am on the 14th, 15th, 16th & 17th August in the Garden Studio as well as a free workshop from 12.30pm-2.30pm on 15th & 16th August.

Rachel makes work to connect people. It is made up of the stuff that makes up life, mundane or profound, and sets scenes musically in manageable chapters. Detailed and highly visual, Burn creates sense with meaningful movement sequences offering an open and sensitive narrative for the audience to inhabit.
