A community cast of 20 joined professional dance artists, Sally Molloy and Natalie Watson and Choreographer & Creator, Genevieve Say to create Le Club Social – an imaginary club in the heart of Bournemouth celebrating decades of dance and clubbing memories across the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP) region.

Not only did it nostalgically celebrate memories from decades gone by with live music, a community playlist, audio sound bytes and choreographed set pieces, it created a whole new world of wonderful moments and experiences that the cast and audience absolutely loved!

“Being part of this cast is the best experience I’ve ever had!”

Created and led by Genevieve Say Le Club Social is a nostalgic, immersive journey into BCP’s local dance memories from across the decades.

“Teamwork. Good Vibes. Once in a Lifetime. All Ages. Beautiful People.”

Through community workshops and rehearsals Genevieve and her duo of local professional dance artists recreated an imaginary nightclub experience in Pavilion Dance’s Ocean Theatre. A fun chance to relive getting ready to go out, first meetings, all night moving, sticky floors and the joy of dancing.

“An amazing journey of laughter, joy and friendship.”

With a community cast aged 19 to 70+ years, the performance reflected an eclectic mix of music, styles, memories, and an undiminished love of the dance floor!

“What will I do with my weekends now it’s over?!”

A huge thank you to Genevieve Say for bringing this project alive!  And to the amazing production team and all the fabulous community cast.  I FEEL LOVE by Donna Summer was a feature in the show and completely sums up the audience and cast feedback!
