Why did you decide to take part in BCD?

I have always been a fan of Strictly on the BBC and been amazed at what people can do with some professional training and lots of practise. When the opportunity to have a go at something completely different as a real challenge and be able to raise money for some great local causes it felt a yes had to be the answer.

How did you feel when you realised you were dancing Musical Theatre?

Having listened to various people being told “you are doing street”, some “you will be doing contemporary” it was quite clear the expected Latin and Ballroom were not going to be options so “Alison you will be partnered by Kelly doing musical theatre” came as quite a relief.

How did you co-workers react when they found out you were taking part?

“Really?” with a smile has been the general response. “Wow that’s brave” and “I’m sure it will be great” have all been said so far.

What has been the highlight of your training so far?

Kelly has been great in the choreography so far and having sent me some videos that has allowed me to practise before the first hour session. So this weekend was my second practise and we recorded some sections on Kelly’s phone – the high light has been seeing her edit it to the music ready to be used to let people have a little insight of what’s to come.
