Pavilion Dance South West (PDSW) and Purbeck Film Festival are delighted to announce a new collaboration that will begin at this year’s Film Festival, which runs between 10 and 25 October 2014.
Pavilion Dance, PDSW’s Bournemouth-based venue, which has been showing art house films since May 2013, will become the newest addition to the Film Festival’s range of over 40 venues, including castles, tourism sites, pubs, village halls, Lighthouse Poole and its central venue, The Rex Cinema, Wareham.
“We are delighted to welcome Pavilion Dance aboard this year as our brand new Bournemouth venue and are very excited about the partnership we are forming. We look forward to this year’s films and to a long and successful collaboration with Pavilion Dance South West”, says Julie Sharman, Administrator for The Purbeck Film Charitable Trust.
And Deryck Newland, PDSW’s Artistic Director, comments: “This partnership marks an important new step in our development as a venue for quality art house and world cinema and live ballet and opera screenings, and supports the reputation we are building as Bournemouth‘s foremost venue for contemporary dance and performance.”
The main theme for this year’s Purbeck Film Festival is Italian film, but there will be the usual exciting mix of world cinema, classics and new films. The full programme will be announced on Friday 22 August and programmes will be available from that date.
