At Pavilion Dance, we are delighted to be working with so many amazing local schools and hope they are all enjoying a fabulous summer break!  Last term we worked collaboratively with a number of schools delivering workshops & activites at Mudeford Infants, Bourne Academy, Parkfield, Poole High School, Bournemouth & Poole College, Victoria School, Ballard,  and Glenmoor & Winton Academies.

For these schools, we have delivered a wide variety of workshops for the children, such as contemporary & commercial, street dance, ‘Zany Zoo’ show choreography’, Northern Soul, Latin Fusion, Diverse City inclusive workshops, and Club Origami paper and puppetry dance.

Alongside this, we have helped the students prepare fully for their end of term shows and performances- all of which looked great! We have also delivered live & digital- where face to face was not feasible- workshops with leading national professional dance artists in order to provide unique and worthwhile experiences for young people with or without a passion for dancing.

One of our commissioned artists- 2Faced dance performed their touring show: ‘Lungs of the City’ dance in Poole High School’s playground to 840 students, which was later branded with the highest praises “cool” and “awesome”- and warranted spontaneous moves from a number of students across the playground!  Our Youth Dance company COAST performed their last performance as the 22/23 cohort with the new cohort now getting ready for 23/24! Thanks to all the schools for having us!

Dance artist Claire Benson is offering BCP Primary school workshops inspired by Plastic Paradiso; her brand-new dance show that is now touring nationally. Through puppetry and dance, Claire reimagines a place entirely made of plastic, and how friendship and nature can reclaim what was a barren world… This show is great not only for the children’s entertainment but also as a work of art that conveys a real environmental issue that we are all facing.

Contact our Young People Producer Amy Reynolds if you’re a school interested in dance and performance related activities.
