We’re pleased to welcome artists Sean Moss and Linden Dance Company to our studios this summer as part of our Visiting Artists programme.

Sean is a former member of 2Faced Dance and is starting his choreographic journey developing new solo work.  He plans to finish and refine his solo dance-theatre work, combining movement, text and film to create a live show ready for touring.  Specificially experimenting with structure and set, he will explore how this work will be realised and what staging challenges it may face.

Sean says: “The Visiting Artist Award is an amazing opportunity to create, refine and experiment in a supportive environment with an incredible setting.  The South West has been my home from childhood, and programmes like this allow me to create work in the places I feel the most connected to and work towards strengthening the dance sector in the region.”

Directed by Christopher Radford and Sara Macqueen, Linden Dance Company is an innovative professional dance company based in Birmingham, creating passionate and exciting new works.   The company champions positivity, individuality and free expression and blends positive physical and mental wellbeing training throughout all its work.

During their residency they will be developing movement for a dance film inspired by community research with individuals living with FND (Functional Neurological Disorder), exploring our limitations to realise how limitless we can be and championing the power of the creative arts to positively impact lives. This is part of a larger project of community outreach and co creations working with people who have FND.

Christopher and Sara say: “We are incredibly excited to have the opportunity to explore this important work and form new links and relationships with dancers and communities in Bournemouth. We are incredibly grateful to the Pavilion Dance team for making this possible!”
