Do you love to choreograph? Are you between 16 and 24 years old?
PDSW and its partners run programmes to enable dedicated and talented young dancers to be challenged and nurtured as critics, performers and also as choreographers. Our aim is to help them to become as creative in their approach and style as possible, to have the chance to explore different dance genres and to develop their technique. Young Choreographers SW brings together programmes that have been run before but separately. It provides a chance to explore choreography with a range of artists and to give the young choreographers the chance to share their new work in performances around the region.
We are offering two intensive residential weekends:
- Saturday 8 & Sunday 9 November 2014 with Russell Maliphant at Dartington
- Saturday 17 & Sunday 18 January 2015 with Dan Canham (artistic director & chief investigator of Still House www.stillhouse.co.uk), Peter Wardell (magician) and 2 other artists, to be announced, at Pavilion Dance, Bournemouth
There are also opportunities for 2 of the young people to be featured in a documentary film and for new work to be shared in performance events in Spring 2015.
