Pavilion Dance South West are thrilled to receive donation from JP Morgan

Pavilion Dance South West would like to announce that they have been awarded a grant from JP Morgan Community Relations Committee for their work on two of their key community projects, Parkinson’s Dance and a youth project that this year will be called Our Groove.

Parkinson’s Dance is a specialised class for individuals affected by the condition and has a huge positive impact on mobility, strength and co-ordination. For many it is also a social lifeline to help tackle the isolation that can be felt with this condition.

Our Groove, last year called Retract, invites pupils from the Quay School to a transformational dance residency for young disengaged people.

For some young people the project results in them dropping defences, connecting with peers and expressing themselves in a safe environment, in a way that has not been possible previously.

Helga Brandt, Head of Fundraising and Development said:

We are delighted with this donation, not only for the impact that it will have on these two projects, but we also hope that this will help to highlight the impact that business supporting dance can have on our communities.”
