Michelle Hainsworth

Michelle Hainsworth gained her love for contemporary and creative dance at school where the arts were highly valued. She later went on to gain a BA(Hons) and PGCE (Secondary) in Dance, and expertise in Dance and Disabilty, Dance for Older Adults, Inclusive Dance Practice and Dance for Parkinson’s.
She spent over 20 years teaching dance, drama and English in secondary schools but now enjoys teaching dance classes to older adults in the community, where no two days are ever the same. She also directs Samphire, a community dance company specifically aimed at “mature” dancers on the Isle of Wight. She loves her job. She enjoys watching people working together having fun and exploring ideas through movement. She is very much looking forward to meeting new dancers at the Open Doors event.
