Youth Contemporary 13-16yrs with Marta Ammendola
Performed from 7 January — 25 February, 2019
Contemporary Dance is a dynamic and creative dance style. This class builds from simple steps and techniques to fully formed exercises and phrases.
Marta is an Italian Dance Artist, based in the UK. She started dancing from a young age at the Vic Ballet School in Verona, Italy, specialising in Ballet, Contemporary Dance and Movement Improvisation. In 2011 she moved to London, where she graduated with a First Class degree from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in 2014. During this time she had the opportunity to work with many artists such as Rosemary Butcher, Tony Thatcher and Susan Sentler, which helped her develop as a Performer and Choreographer. During her years of study she gained a much better understanding of the body, its anatomy and functions and she has refined her technical and creative skills. After that Marta worked in London as part of multiple independent projects, creating her own work as well as performing for artists such as Jo Lawrence and Siobhan Davies. Marta is currently focusing on teaching and working on developing a project, which she hopes to share with the public soon!
Our youth classes are designed so that young people can develop their confidence and dance skills in a relaxed environment. Due to this, classes can only be undertaken for the whole term or second half of term – so that the same young dancers see each other every week, allowing time to adjust to the class atmosphere.
These classes can be booked in various different ways:
- Book for the entire term
- OR take a taster class (£5.50) on the first week of any new term. If your child would like to continue you can then book the whole term.
- Join in after Half-Term
- OR take a taster class (£5.50) on the first week after half term. If your child would like to continue you can then book the remainder of term.
