The Causes

This year Business Come Dancing is in aid of The Mayor of Bournemouth’s Charity Appeal. Every year, the Mayor chooses local Charities to support during the Mayoral Year. All the profit raised through donations, fundraising events and the Mayor’s Emporium in Boscombe is divided between those Charities at the Mayor’s sole discretion, ratified by the Charity Trustees. The charities are presented with their cheques by the Mayor at the end of the Mayoral Year.

The current Mayor, Councillor Lawrence Williams, supports the following local charities:

The Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra

(Charity No 208520)

For the provision of orchestral performances, education & community projects, nationally and internationally.

Pavilion Dance South-West

(Charity No 1111641)

Transforms lives through dance, and the National Dance Development Organisation for the South West of England.

The Hannah Levy House Trust

(Charity No 237191)

Provides residential care for Jewish and non-Jewish Senior Citizens, and short-term respite care for families at the Home in Westbourne.

The Russell-Cotes Art Gallery & Museum

(Charity No 306288)

Opened as a public museum in 1922 and now has an established exhibition programme, offers learning workshops, guided tours, outreach sessions and talks on art and history.
