Call for Expressions of Interest from Artists/Companies

We are seeking expressions of interest from independent dance artists and companies who would like to present or pitch their work in the UK Dance Showcase from 16th – 19th May 2019. The Showcase will feature small and mid-scale dance productions, with a focus on UK touring and extending the reach of dance performances to more diverse
places and spaces.

The UK Dance Showcase will take place across Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch and will include dance performances, pitching sessions, extracts from works in progress, and the opportunity to participate in further networking and sharing opportunities.

What is involved?

You can submit an expression of interest via the online form for any or all of the below opportunities:

  • To present a completed piece of work that will be available for touring in the UK beyond May 2019
  • To pitch a completed piece of work, work in progress or project idea. This can include opportunities to share a brief performance extract, or studio sharing
  • To participate in further networking or sharing opportunities at the UK Dance Showcase

Please note, to ensure fair and equal opportunity for all applicants, you can only submit one piece of work for consideration through this form. If expressing interest for all of the above opportunities, you must submit the same piece of work for each.

End of review and selection process: Friday 26 October 2018
Showcase dates: Thursday 16 to Sunday 19 May 2019

Next steps:
Expressions of interest will be reviewed by a Curatorial Committee made up of artists, producers and promoters working across dance and the arts. Further details about the Curatorial Committee will be released soon via the PDSW website.

The review and selection process will be in progress until 26th October 2018. This may involve direct approaches to artists / companies, as well as this open call for Expressions of Interest. We will respond to all Expressions of Interest by 31 st July 2018.

We regret that we will not be able to provide feedback to unsuccessful applicants, but will add your details to our Surf The Wave mailing list to keep you informed of future opportunities. If you do not wish to be added to our database, and receive updates about Surf The Wave, please let us know on your application.
