Famous for the great uncut scene of Mikhail Baryshnikov doing eleven pirouettes for eleven rubles, White Nights is the story of Nikolai Rochenko (Baryshnikov), a defected Russian dancer whose plane is forced to land on Soviet territory. He is taken to an apartment where Raymond Greenwood (Gregory Hines), an American who himself defected to Russia several years ago, is there to keep an eye on him.
