Parkinson's Awareness Day 2018

Parkinson's Awareness Day 2018

Friday 13 April - 11.00am

Every year Pavilion Dance South West host our Parkinson's Awareness Day as part of Parkinson's UK Awareness Week. We aspire to raise awareness of both the condition and how the arts can be used as a tool to have fun, socialise, keep fit and feel empowered.

This is a fun and free day hosted at our venue next to Bournemouth's golden beach and pier. Throughout the day we host a range of arts-based workshops for you to enjoy and experience such as Parkinson's Dance and Yoga for Parkinson's. The University of Southampton will share their research around dance and its benefits for people living with Parkinson's, alongside information stalls and an opportunity to take part in a Q&A session with Dorset's lead Neurological Consultant Dr Ralph Gregory. Confirmed schedule coming soon.

The day is also an opportunity to socialise and connect with others with a constant supply of good tea and cake.

The day is free and no previous experience needed. Numbers are limited for workshops, so bookings are taken on a first come first serve basis.
