Unpacking identity and writing intersectionality

Aanka Batta and Jasmine Isa Quresh

Intersectionality has become the buzz word in magazine articles, poetry, lectures, short stories and even comedy. But what is intersectionality and how does one write intersectionally? Aanka and Jasmine, as migrant and Queer writers of colour bring you this workshop on how to unpack assumptions around identity and write through intersectionally. By bringing tools on meaning making, language and somatics- the writers invite you to an in-person writing practice which is politically and historically active. Gaining skills in how to write about the current socially charged environment, you will leave with fresh ideas on decoloniality, intersectionality and social justice.
