Test and Play is a pay-what-you-can monthly digital support group held over Zoom.

You’ll have a digital idea / project / initiative / question you want to test with people in a new and safe space…

Each session will be introduced by a guest speaker who will share insight into their digital work.

Then, in randomised breakout rooms, you get 5 mins to test your idea, receiving 5 mins of non-judgemental thoughts, idea, questions and challenges. You then swap, so you all get to test your personal idea, and you all give back to each other.

The space is held by PDSW Digital Producer, Lizzy Maries.

Who is it for?

Anyone who works in a cultural and digital context.

You might be a CEO, Dancer, Designer, Freelancer, Front of House, Promotor, Comms or a Producer. The group is stronger for variety!

You’ll have something you want to test, be a good listener, and be able offer supportive feedback.

You’ll understand that digitally, we are stronger together and all working in brand new ways in new contexts.

Speaker: Omari ‘Motion’ Carter | Founder & Creative Director of The Motion Dance Collective. Omari will draw from his postgraduate study, which focused on hip hop dance’s relationship to narrative and the label of ‘urban’ within a screendance context. As a hip hop dance culture aficionado, studying under the roof of a contemporary dance school, Omari was concerned about who his research was going to reach; who was it for? The screendancers? The hip-hop heads? Film and video practitioners? The academics/scholars of either form? He’ll highlight his working practice with screendance production company The Motion Dance Collective and provoke a nuance point of view on urbanity within screendance.

Thu Feb 11th 2021, 11am – 12.15pm

Speaker: Catherine Allen, Co-founder and CEO of Limina Immersive

‘Beyond the early adopter’ Catherine will share what she’s learned as CEO of Limina Immersive about making innovative work that appeals to the general public .
