“I have always, like most people, loved dancing. I would just dance all my life if I could, and through personal upset with family, I needed to get something back. This was something I felt could bring back my spark, because I felt I had lost it, and yeah, it did!” – Le Club Social Community Cast Member

No matter what our experience, no matter what our age, a dance floor brings us together. Premiering at Pavilion Dance in April 2023, Genevieve Say’s Le Club Social was a fantasy club show created to house infinite rooms of music and dance reflecting decades of Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole’s clubbing and dance floor memories.

In this small but powerful exhibition, experience Le Club Social through sight and sound.  Photographs, a dance floor playlist and a special documentary provide insight into decades of local dance floor loving and the joy, fun and authenticity of the process and people involved in Le Club Social. Please bring a android phone and headphones to access a deeper level of the exhibition, including local resident interview gems.

Le Club Social was a mind-palace, co-created with live musicians, professional performers and a local cast of dance floor lovers aged 21 to 78, drawing on their experiences and the stories of community residents. A coming together of different eras and contrasting genres, where everyone was welcome to join the joy of the dancefloor. Will you join us?
