Performance information
19th October 2024
Running time: 180 minutes

Join us for the first Ceilidh of the 2024/2025 series!

Monkey See Monkey Do weave instrumental harmonies on fiddle and clarinet through the driving rhythms of bodhran and guitar. Combining the talents of clarinettist Helen Gentile, fiddle player Samuel Horlock, bodhran player Matthew Aldous, and guitarist David Mitchell, their high-energy set of jigs and reels is guaranteed to have you up on your feet and dancing! The band will be joined by renowned caller Ian Nichols, to take you through the steps of the dances on the night.

“Thoroughly enjoyable” (Songlines) “A genuine delight” (FATEA)

Doors open at 6.30pm, dancing starts at 7pm

A Ceilidh (pronounced Kaylee) is a form of social folk dancing, similar to a barn dance, where the caller guides you through the moves for each dance.  These are fun, social nights held in our Ocean Theatre with no experience or partner required.  Absolute beginners and regular Ceilidh goers welcome!  These events often sell out so book in advance to secure your space.
