Dorset is a place of natural wonder and beauty. With sea, land and a climate all of its own.

Join Parkinson’s Dance Science trained fabulous duo, Carla Black and Sammy Gillingham as they take you on a journey about our beautiful planet earth. This last session of the day will be a gentle space to move and connect to all the wonder beyond our Pavilion Dance colourful doors.

No dance experience necessary, seated options available throughout.

Meet the workshop leaders, Carla Black & Sammy Gillingham

Carla Black Carla has enjoyed working in the dance and fitness industry for almost a decade now and mostly teaches Pilates and Dance Aerobics within various community and private settings as well as Parkinson’s Dance classes and Elevate for M.S across Dorset.

Carla studied ballet, tap and modern dance from the age of 10-18 years and then followed a creative path, graduating from Bournemouth Arts Institute in 2005 with a BAHons in Film and Animation Production.

Since then life has come full circle, teaching children’s after school dance clubs and gaining various health and fitness qualifications in order to assist those of all ages to enjoy exercise and movement to music in a variety of ways to encourage physical and mental wellbeing, mobility, strength and quality of life.

Sammy Gillingham

A compassionate and thoughtful dance artist with 9 years of arts sector experience, Sammy has a BA Hons in Dance Studies from Middlesex University and is undertaking an MSc in Dance Science at Trinity Laban. Based in Dorset, Sammy dances with people living with Parkinson’s and Multiple Sclerosis those who have been impacted by cancer. She believes that arts and cultural experiences can have meaningful impact on our lives and can address societal challenges, bring joy, enhance our physical and mental health, and leave lasting impressions.
