Combat cliches and challenge your writing limits using your sense of smell

Author Liam R. Findlay

When you’re trying to describe your fictional world, clichés can linger like a bad smell. In this hands-on (or should that be nose-on) interactive session, author Liam R. Findlay will lead an exploration of the senses, using this to recommend original ways of describing.

Equipped with fantastical fragrances, you will be challenged to describe what is being sniffed while avoiding certain cliches. Bookended with explorations of work by Tolkien, and Liam’s own novel The Doom Town Dummies, this session will highlight how multisensory descriptions can be threaded through your story and tie it together in unique ways.
