The Creative Path: Walk your Way to Writing Success

Performance information
28th April 2024
Running time: 90 minutes

Find out why a walk is an essential part of a writer’s routine on this short ‘walk and write workshop’.

With writer and lecturer Emma Scattergood

After a short introduction to the value of incorporating walking into your writing routine, (pointing to the working habits of authors over the centuries, and more recent research into its benefits) we will take our notebooks out for a short mindful walk along the beach noting the impact that walking and pausing in nature has on our minds and on our writing. Come prepared for walking and pausing outside in light drizzle.

Notes for this outdoor session – Participants should be comfortable walking on uneven ground or sand, and be prepared to possibly get a little cold and damp. If the weather is very bad, the session will become purely theoretical. Please be mindful of bringing appropriate clothing/footwear and – if appropriate – medication/a snack/drink.
