Explore contemporary dance, learning different techniques. This class will help you to develop your skills as a performer and it will challenge your creativity.



Teacher Bio 

Marta Ammendola:

Marta, originally from Italy, is a freelance dance artist, practitioner, and lecturer based in Bournemouth, UK. Her dance career started from a young age at the Vic Ballet School in Verona, where she specialised in Ballet, Contemporary Dance, and Movement Improvisation. In 2011, Marta moved to London, where she graduated with a First Class degree from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance: here she received excellent training to prepare her for performing, choreographing, and teaching.

After graduating, Marta worked with artists such as Jo Lawrence (film director) and Henrietta Hale (choreographer), whilst also creating and showcasing her own work. Since relocating to Bournemouth in 2016, Marta has worked as a freelance dance artist and practitioner for PDSW, Hampshire Cultural Trust, and multiple local schools, engaging in both Educational and Community settings.

In 2020, Marta started working as a Visiting Tutor for Arts University Bournemouth as part of the Dance Faculty team, she has collaborated with visual artist Emily Hawes in the creation and performance of These supple waters and she has coordinated the production of  Art Asia’ Belonging: a multidisciplinary project commissioned and funded by Southampton City Council for the Mayflower 400th anniversary.
