About Ballet Intermediate

Are you ready to take your ballet training to the next level? Our Intermediate Ballet dance class is designed for dancers with a solid foundation in ballet who are eager to refine their technique, increase their strength, and enhance their artistry.

This is where we fine-tune our technique and prepare our bodies for the centre work. The barre finishes with a flowing stretch because our muscles are now beautifully warm, followed by some short combinations in the centre to finish, where we focus on a particular move, or style of music, and these are different each week.  The ballet class always finishes with a reverence.

What to Expect

Build on your existing knowledge with more complex steps, jumps, and turns. Learn intricate barre and centre work combinations to improve coordination and precision. Focus on musicality and expression, enhancing your ability to convey emotion through dance. Participate in exercises that increase your strength, flexibility, and overall technical proficiency.

This intermediate ballet class is led by dance teacher Katie Neal. She uses a combination of classical and modern piano music, which is all written for ballet classes. This will transport you to another world where ballet is the universal language!

Frequently Asked Questions

What shoes should I wear to my class?

Our studio floors are especially designed for your comfort and safety. They can mark easily and we ask that you wear light soled trainers (grey or white) or non-marking dance shoes. Some classes (for example ballet and tap) may require specific footwear, but trainers can also be worn to these classes. If you are new to a class, just attend in trainers and your teacher can advise for future classes.

What clothes should I wear?

Just wear loose fitting, comfortable clothing. Your teacher will advise you if you should wear anything specific in the future.

How do I know if this class is for me?

Most classes are for mixed abilities, from beginners upwards. Where you might need some knowledge, classed are marked as 'Intermediate' or 'Advanced' as an example. The front desk team can advise you on 01202 203630 if you have any questions on this.

What else should I bring?

Please bring a water bottle with you. We have water fountains to fill up your bottle.

Can I buy this class for less than the advertised price?
