About Breath & Movement

A gentle session to connect with the rhythm of the breath and explore the benefits of breath led movement, helping to melt away tension in the body and mind and strengthening our ability to focus on the moment.

We will look at breathing techniques to enhance the relaxation response in the body and synchronise the breath with flowing movements, bringing all our awareness into the body as we move and stretch. Experience a sense of ease, stillness and peace and create space in the body for the breath and energy to flow.

No previous experience is necessary. We invite you to enjoy a relaxed movement and breath session which can be practiced seated if you prefer not be floor based or standing. Comfy clothes which allow you to breathe and move freely are recommended.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why can't I see this class in your brochure?

The person leading this class has hired the studio space themselves and so is not featured in the Pavilion Dance funded season of classes or the ticket bundle.

What shoes should I wear to my class?

Our studio floors are especially designed for your comfort and safety. They can mark easily and we ask that you wear light soled trainers (grey or white) or non-marking dance shoes. Some classes (for example ballet and tap) may require specific footwear, but trainers can also be worn to these classes. If you are new to a class, just attend in trainers and your teacher can advise for future classes.

What clothes should I wear?

Just wear loose fitting, comfortable clothing. Your teacher will advise you if you should wear anything specific in the future.

What else should I bring?

Please bring a water bottle with you. We have water fountains to fill up your bottle.

Do you have changing rooms?

Yes, we have changing rooms, lockers (£1 coin required), toilets and showers.

What do I do on arrival?

Please check in with the front desk team. We’ll check you in on our register and send you to the correct studio. Please note that sometimes we need to move classes around so you may not always be in the same studio.
