About Rhythms of Belonging for Women

With thanks to Dorset Welcome Fund, Pavilion Dance are pleased to offer monthly dance sessions called Rhythms of Belonging for the local migrant community.

Join us for a free and welcoming dance class for women from refugee and asylum-seeking communities. Whether you arrived in Bournemouth and surrounding areas 30 years or 3 weeks ago, we welcome you to come and join us in our friendly venue by the sea!

These are free, monthly sessions for those who identify within the migrant community to come together, share and connect with other women through dance and movement.

When?

Classes for Women are 12.45 - 2.15pm on the second Wednesday of every month between May and December 2025.

Where?

Pavilion Dance South West – behind the main Pavilion Theatre in the Lower Gardens.

You can drop-in to the session or book ahead to secure your space.  Book via the buttons at the bottom of the page or call our box office team on 01202 203630 to book a space.

What?

Each class includes gentle movement, conversation, and a chance to share traditional dances and stories from different cultures. You will be welcomed and led by teacher Jenna Hubbard, and assistant Zahra Eskandari, to this friendly and supportive group where you can meet new people and feel at home.

Refreshments will also be available before and after class.  There will be a chance to give feedback about what else you’d like to do during these sessions each month.

Not sure if this is for you?

Would you like us to visit your community group and introduce the class? We can offer a free 20-minute taster session. Email katie.ward@pdsw.org.uk for more details.

These classes are kindly supported and funded by Dorset Welcome Fund.
