Leap Dance Toolkit for Primary Schools
A toolkit to empower teachers to confidently plan and deliver curriculum-based dance lessons linked to classroom learning topics.
What is LEAP?
LEAP is a comprehensive dance toolkit for Primary Schools created by Pavilion Dance South West. It includes 5.5 hours of in-person training with accompanying videos and handbook offering PE leads and teaching staff an easy-to-use framework involving a mix of set exercises and creative tasks.
The aim of this training and resource is to empower and build the confidence of both PE leads and class teachers to plan and deliver curriculum-based dance lessons that can easily linked to classroom learning topics. This thorough and playful training up-skills and challenge staff to tap into their creativity, providing simple planning templates and examples that allow them to build their own personalised and engaging dance lessons.
LEAP is designed to:
- Upskill and inspire
- Build confidence
- Aid creative learning
- Promote inclusivity
- Support children’s social development
- Align with the National PE curriculum
- Provide a creative outlet for students to have more positive physical exercise experiences
Thank you, an incredibly well prepared and thought out training day with great resources; planning and ideas. Delivered in a way not to make me feel uncomfortable. Looking forward to putting some of these ideas into practice.
