Shift Dance is helping me change the things I struggle with. It makes me feel free when I am dancing

Shift Dance uses the power of dance to help young people aged 11 to 14 build self-esteem, feel connected, and boost their wellbeing. They get to move, create, and express themselves in a space that feels safe, fun, and free.

Workshops are led by a brilliant team:

  • Emily Thompson Smith – Dance Artist
  • Natalie Cresswell – Wellbeing Practitioner

Shift Dance can run in school and community settings – in our out of curriculum time. It’s currently live at The Bourne Academy in Bournemouth and has previously run at The Cornerstone Academy in Poole.

At Cornerstone, during one school term:

  • 87.5% of participants said their wellbeing improved
  • 75% felt they could handle problems better (SWEMWBS survey: 8 out of 10 students)

Each session helps teens leave daily stress behind and step into a world of movement, imagination, and possibility.

That’s real impact, through movement.
