About Bridging the Gap – Moving Conversations

A celebration of creativity, connection, and collaboration

Bridging the Gap – Moving Conversations is a unique project that brought together Isle of Wight College Performing Arts and Photography students (aged 16–24), members of Samphire Community Dance Company (aged 55+), and Music Producer Noah Johnson.

Pooling our resources, we offered a short but very special opportunity for dancers and artists across generations to create together. Over a series of workshops, new friendships were formed and a genuine spirit of trust and equality flourished. Inspired by the theme of communication, the company devised thoughtful and beautiful movement pieces — proving that creativity transcends age.

The film and photographs showcased document our joyful process — a vibrant conversation between generations, captured through dance, music, film and photography. Bridging the Gap stands as proof that even small projects can create lasting impact.

We invite you to experience the work and be moved by the conversations in motion. We hope you enjoy witnessing these moving conversations as much as we enjoyed creating them.
