About Mixed Bill

mapdance 2026 offers an enticing, varied set of exciting new works by renowned and upcoming contemporary choreographers, plus the revival of 'For Seasons' by Yukiko Masui from 2023-24.  This season we welcome a stellar line up of artists including Cathy Waller, Luca Silvestrini and Amy Morvell.

mapdance, the University of Chichester’s MA touring company, is an established group of dynamic young dancers recruited nationally and internationally. Their diverse repertoire offers audiences a refreshing mixture of gritty dance-theatre, athletic and fast-paced choreography.

Symphony of Many  l  Cathy Waller

Drawn from human and mammal connections found in flocks, herds, and shoals, Symphony of Many reveals how bodies find harmony through instinct, intuition, rhythm, and shared momentum. Conducting bodies as an orchestra and shifting through roles of leader and follower, it invites the beauty of collective movement.

This Is Not A Party  l  Amy Morvell

Untouchable, self-assured and confident in their own importance. But when exposure arrives, the surface cracks, and the moment slips out of control. Time folds back, the performance resets, and the image is repaired. Nothing to see here. This is not a party. This just a work event.

All Human Beings  l  Luca Silverstrini

One of the most distinctive voices in British dance theatre, Protein Dance's Artistic Director Luca Silverstrini has been using a blend of original choreography, text, music and social commentary to engage and entertain audiences for over 25 years. Created with and for mapdance, All Human Beings is a dance response to Max Richter's original work by the same title which features readings from 1948's Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

For Seasons  l  Yukiko Masui

A contemporary take on Vivaldi, Masaui's For Seasons celebrates the seasons with a global music palette, creating a distinct version of the original Four Seasons: a dance concerto.

A programme that will appeal to both seasoned dance viewers and audiences new to dance and is of particular interest to dance students at GCSE, BTEC, A- level and university.
