Buckle Up we’re taking RIDE on tour to BCP schools this July!
3 Jul 2026News Story
We are excited to partner with the incredible Zoielogic Dance Theatre to take their playful summer road trip RIDE on tour to 5 local BCP schools in July.
Zoielogic’s mission has always been to challenge who dance is for and how it is experienced. Working in partnership with organisations like Pavilion Dance enables connection with more local communities to spark cultural engagement where it matters most. We can’t wait to take it to 5 schools in the BCP area including: Oak Academy, St Edwards, Bourne Academy, Christchurch Juniors and Twynham School.
RIDE is a playful spin on the summer road trip, including 3 blokes, a Ford Orion and dance theatre like you’ve never seen it before. Think Chitty Chitty Bang Bang with an ‘80s vibe, an athletic physicality and daring stunts and features a real car that rotates and pivots to provide the performance playground.
Over 2400 students will get to enjoy this high energy outdoor playground performance plus boys workshops to explore movement and choreography inspired by the show. The tour is part of Pavilion Dance’s initiative to encourage more boys to dance – ahead of our All Boys Can dance workshops in October and new All Boys Co classes coming in Nov & Dec 2026.
RIDE was commissioned and co-produced for International Dance Festival Birmingham 2016, co-commissioned by Gulbenkian (University of Kent) and Dance Village at Bristol Harbour Festival, and made possible by Arts Council England.
This tour is part of Pavilion Dance’s Children and Young People programme and this collaboration is made possible by Arts Council England. Our annual Summer playground tour is open to all BCP primary and secondary schools – if you are interested in taking part in the 2027 school tour or the All Boys Can workshops please contact Amy Reynolds, Children and Young People Producer on email: amy.reynolds@pdsw.org.uk
