Aging Without Limits and All That Jazz!

Boosting wellbeing for older BCP and Dorset residents
Dorset and BCP residents have been enjoying their fair share of dance and wellbeing these past few weeks!
As part of our Wellbeing strand at Pavilion Dance we were delighted to partner with BCP council as part of ‘Age Without Limits’ Day at Gladys Court, independent living community in Bournemouth. Our team took along the top hats and dance teacher Clare Nicholas brought the jazz hands and movement for a fun afternoon. There was also live music from Jewell Harmonies.
Gladys Court is part of BCP Homes’ independent living communities, supporting people to live and age well with a strong sense of community. At Pavilion Dance we are grateful supporting all ages to dance and for the opportunity to visit local communities and support the wellbeing benefits that dance brings.
Wellbeing classes in the community
Residents in Turlin Moor and Bourne Valley have also been enjoying the benefits of dance with free, weekly wellbeing classes. Thanks to National Lottery Awards for All and Poole Communities Trust support we are out and about in local communities where our classes and inspiring teachers help to boost physical fitness, lift spirits and bring people together.

Dance Because You Can
We’ve also been busy dancing in other parts of Dorset as part of our Dance Because You Can partnership to support social dance classes for over 60s in Swanage and Sturminster Newton. Initially set up by Artsreach Dorset these classes continue to get people moving and enjoying the benefits of dance.
