Origins Youth Dance Platform

A showcase of incredible talent from across the BCP area and South West region., this event takes place in Spring, and celebrates creativity, passion, and emerging talent, offering young dancers the opportunity to perform on stage, connect with industry professionals, and be inspired by their peers.

Origins is a vibrant dance platform providing youth dance groups with a professional stage to showcase their work. Throughout the day, participants join exciting workshops and receive careers advice from industry speakers and choreographers. The day ends with an inspiring evening performance open to family and friends. Dancers from across the region come together to celebrate their love of dance.

U.Dance

U.Dance Regional Platforms take place across the UK, offer exciting performance and workshop opportunities to thousands of young dancers each year. Regional Platforms are hosted here showcasing the talents of the region’s young dancers.

Regional Platforms take place in the spring each year and form part of the selection process for the U.Dance National Festival. Groups and individual dancers of all dancestyles are able to enter, aged 11-19, or up to 25 for disabled dancers.

Primary Dance Festival

Created in partnership with Bournemouth School Games in 2026, the Primary Dance festival welcomes Primary schools across two days, with Year 3 and 4 students creating and performing original dance pieces alongside peers from five other local schools.

The festival returns 9-10 February 2027 giving many primary school-aged children the chance to perform for the first time in a real theatre environment.
