Job Description

New Waves is an opportunity to present work-in-progress to your peers and the general public for constructive feedback. The evening in March 2026 will precede our South West Dance Summit the following day.

How it will work

‘New Waves’ will be presented in our theatre on Wednesday 25 March 2026 at 6:30pm. There will be 4 acts so we should be finished by approximately 8pm.

Each artist/company will have time/space to rehearse either the day before or on the day plus a bursary cash payment of £200 to help cover expenses.

It’s a no-tech evening; each piece will be presented in working light (i.e. no theatre lights or lighting design), using the theatre’s sound system, with the raked seating in place.

Each artist/company can watch each other’s presentations.

Following your presentations, the audience will be divided into small groups to give constructive feedback to each artist/company in an informal way on stage. The Pavilion Dance Team will host and hold the space for the feedback session.

What we are looking for

Four South West-based artists/companies who have a work-in-progress of up to 15 minutes long.

Artists/companies who are comfortable being self-sufficient during rehearsals (no technical support).

Artists/companies who would be comfortable chairing audience feedback (though Victor and Jeanette will help with this too)

How to apply

If you would like to apply, please complete the following form by Friday 23 January 2026.

Alternatively, you can submit an application via video or voice note (no more than 5 minutes) outlining: your contact details, where you’re based and the piece you wish to present. You will also need to send us a filmed example of your work. Please send your files to jobs@pdsw.org.uk with ‘Scratch Night March 2026’ in the subject line.
