Local Cast Call Out - Bournemouth
Are you currently going through, or have you experienced, the menopause?
For the first time, Pavilion Dance has invited an artist from Iceland to work in our theatre - Lovísa Ósk Gunnarsdóttir. Lovísa is a dancer and choreographer and her latest work - “When the Bleeding Stops” - invites menopausal women around the world to step into the lead roles. The show tackles the silence and taboo around menopause and is also a personal reflection of Lovísa’s experience of being an aging dancer. To date the show has been performed in Iceland, Germany, Norway, Scotland, Slovakia, Czech Republic and Poland.

Lovísa would like to invite women in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole to join the project. It should be noted that participation does not require any stage or dance experience and takes place mostly at home in the living room, at a time that suits everyone. We are looking for women in the age group 40-65yrs and we celebrate diversity. It’s FREE to participate.
Interested? Here's what you need to know
This opportunity is for women aged 40+ who have experienced/are currently experiencing the menopause
Participation begins at the end of July and initially takes place online for up to 6 weeks. It includes a personal exchange with the choreographer and dancing in your own living room. During this process, short videos may be created and parts of them shown on stage after consultation with you.
