Summer Streets Brings Dance, Music and Sunshine to Bournemouth

News Story
On Saturday 31st May, Summer Streets burst into life in Bournemouth's Triangle. The event was an uplifting celebration of dance, music and community - all under glorious blue skies.
Hosted by Pavilion Dance in partnership with Bournemouth Town Centre BID, Summer Streets is a series of free outdoor events, designed to get everyone into Bournemouth's spaces. In our case, we designed our day to get everyone moving. Across the day, our fantastic local dance artists treated visitors to five high-energy workshops. They really brought the area to life and invited passers-by to join in the fun.

The lineup featured a vibrant mix of styles and artists. This included Street Dance with our Tuesday night teacher Jazz Gritt, who brought the beats and the bounce to the pavement. We also saw a Commercial Pop workshop by Katie Neal, who teaches our range of weekly Ballet classes. Finally, Katie Ward wrapped up the afternoon with a series of classics that we all know and love, including the Macarena and maybe even a conga line or two!

Crowds of all ages took part in the workshops, watched from the sides, and chatted with our friendly team about getting involved. There are so many options, from classes, performances, and community events here at Pavilion Dance.
A big thank you to everyone who danced, lead, or simply stopped by to share a smile. Summer Streets was a celebration of creativity, community and togetherness, right in the heart of town.
Want to dance with us again? Our Summer term of classes is underway and it's never too late to join in. Check out our full range of weekly classes.
