There are several steps which lead up to becoming a Supported Artist: introducing us to your work, becoming a Visiting Artist and sharing your artistic journey through conversation and performance.
We are always keen to meet new artists whose vision and values match with ours and learn about the work you are doing. In the first instance we suggest you sign up for our Artist Newsletter to keep up to date with news and opportunities at PDSW. This will include our opportunity every summer to become a Visiting Artist where you can meet our team and work in our studios. This call out usually happens every January.
To become a Supported Artist and to be programmed in our theatre, the PDSW team will need to see your work live.
If you would like to introduce yourself to us, share a tour pack, or wish to share information on upcoming performances that we can attend, please email jeanette@pdsw.org.uk
Our Supported Artists are companies and individuals with whom we have agreed to invest time and resource to develop a more meaningful relationship – one that benefits the artist, ourselves and our learning and achievements together. We share a vision and our values play a central role in our relationship:
Kind; Passionate; Inclusive and Inspiring.
We support artists in various ways, including financial support, space at Pavilion Dance, our beautiful dance house by the sea; and through on-going conversations and connections. We also offer small commissions for work that meet with our artistic vision, consider alternative presentation contexts and have the audience at the heart of the creative process.
