About Scary stories inspired by Shelley
Taking inspiration from Mary Shelley’s novel, Frankenstein, this workshop for children aged 8 and up will encourage them to create their own scary monster story.
This workshop will use Mary Shelley’s novel to introduce children to the gothic horror genre and encourage them to create their own scary monster and to plan their own scary story. Starting with a reading from the book we will briefly discuss and offer tips on building tension and fear within their own story. Children will then be encouraged to create their own monster and use descriptive language to really bring them to life. There will be a choice of writing activities to choose from to inspire monster themed stories and time for sharing of work and feedback towards the end.
